How to feel more energized during Menopause

Posted: August 25, 2018

Most women that are approaching menopause feel tired, crabby and hormonal. With a few daily habits and tips, I am going to coach you on how to feel more energized during Menopause.

I am a women’s coach and own a gym. I only train women, because frankly…we are special! Right? Why would you get your weight loss, hormone or aging advice from a 30 something guy?

I am over 55. I was heavier in my youth when I used to do tons of cardio and eat diet foods. I was miserable. Now, at 58, I still wear a bikini…I only exercise a few times per week, and I am SUPER energized.

Energy levels can make or break your moods and your day. It starts with how well you slept the night before, and ends with preparing for bedtime. What happens in between, has to do with nutrients, hydration, supplements and mindset.

When you shift the way you think, great things are physically possible. And that begins with knowing that there are things that you can control.

Of course every day will not be the same, and menopause may throw you off your game here and there. However, when you make daily changes that may be small…the rewards will be great.

Here are a few tips that will make a big difference in how you feel, and how much energy you have.

  1. Drink at least eight 8 oz. glasses of pure water daily. Even the slightest percentage of a lack of hydration will cause you to be fatigued, and possibly get headaches.
  2. Add in more fiber from green vegetables, oats, apples, pears, avocados, artichokes and asparagus. These foods are superfoods with nutrient dense properties. The fiber will keep you full. The detoxifying properties will shuttle out what your body doesn’t’ need and promote a flatter midsection.
  3. Get at least 7 hours of deep sleep in a cool and dark room. When we don’t sleep enough, we produce hormones that make us feel hungry. We also are more apt to grab a coffee when we are tired…and that leads to a restless night under the covers. Sleep is the key to anti-aging.
  4. Reduce exposure to toxins. Stay away from conventional dairy and animal products. Say no to dryer sheets and fake chemicals in foods and beautyproducts.
